Kim Jones to replace Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi

Fendi has announced Kim Jones’ appointment as new artistic director for womenswear, reportedly taking on the responsibility of creating its haute couture, ready-to-wear, and fur collections. Known for his mix of streetwear and high fashion, Jones will also remain at the helm of Dior Men, where he has transformed the brand to appeal to younger consumers.

The appointment will make Jones the successor of the late Karl Lagerfeld, who created women’s and fur collections for the house since 1965, up until his death last February. This will also be Jones’ first real foray into womenswear. Jones will be working closely with Silvia Fendi, artistic director of accessories and menswear at Fendi, and a member of the house's founding family.

His designs have been worn by celebrities including A$AP Rocky, Robert Pattison, and he designed tour costumes for K-pop stars BTS, as well as the suit David Beckham wore to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex
